From Outdated Brick to a Natural Focal Point
The existing brick fireplace occupied a prominent wall beneath the room’s vaulted ceiling and exposed beams, but its appearance no longer complemented the living space. Refacing the masonry provided a complete visual transformation without changing the fireplace’s established location or footprint.
The new thin stone veneer follows the angled lines of the wall and brings varied color, texture, and depth into the room. Careful stone placement around the firebox, mantel, and upper wall gives the installation a balanced appearance that feels natural within the architecture of the home.

Stone and Reclaimed Wood
A broad stone hearth creates a durable natural-stone base while providing a clean transition between the fireplace and hardwood flooring. Above the firebox, the reclaimed live edge mantel adds warmth and contrast against the stonework.
Together, these materials give the fireplace a more inviting character while preserving the practical function expected from an actively used feature.
Careful Work Inside an Occupied Home
Interior masonry requires more than a well-executed finished surface. Cornerstone protected the surrounding living area, contained the work zone, and managed the installation with care from preparation through cleanup.
The completed fireplace now feels better suited to the room, combining lasting masonry materials with the warmth and character of reclaimed live edge wood.
